Opportunity
The VP of Publishing & Content Marketing is a visionary leader responsible for building a content marketing ecosystem leveraging Life Surge event talent and SurgeU's network of experts. This role involves developing and executing a strategy to enhance SurgeU's brand authority in financial education, increase engagement, and expand our customer base. The role oversees creation of publishing products like memberships, books, magazines, and digital content aligned with our mission to provide value and boost brand awareness.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a cohesive content marketing strategy aligned with SurgeU's vision and goals.Leverage event talent and subject matter experts to create impactful content that positions SurgeU as a leader in financial education and promotes Life Surge as a Christian movement.Oversee creation of multimedia content (written, video, audio, digital) to attract and engage audiences.Lead strategy, development, and management of publishing products including:Memberships and paid subscriptions offering exclusive content and community engagement.Books authored by SurgeU instructors and event talent.A high-quality magazine appealing to Christian audiences and those seeking financial and business education.Manage the entire lifecycle of publishing products from ideation to distribution and performance analysis.Develop strategies to grow the customer base, increase engagement, and improve retention.Collaborate with marketing and events teams to integrate publishing efforts into broader campaigns.Establish partnerships with influencers, publishers, and organizations to amplify reach.Build and lead a publishing team including editors, content creators, and marketing specialists.Oversee budgeting, timelines, and resources for publishing initiatives.Track KPIs to measure effectiveness and refine strategies accordingly.Qualifications
Proven track record in senior publishing, content marketing, or media leadership, preferably in financial education, faith-based, or event-driven sectors.Experience with subscription or membership models and managing publishing products.Strong understanding of content marketing and audience engagement techniques.Exceptional leadership and team management skills.Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to projects.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Proficiency in data analytics and performance measurement.Bachelor's Degree in Publishing, Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.Benefits
