Through leveraging strategic use of local content and right-sized engineering, Energicity, and its subsidiaries Power Leone, Weziza Benin, and Starlight Energy have achieved best-in-class status among the energy access industry.Through our electrification, our customers and their communities benefit from:Better health care outcomes with modern health care equipment, vaccines, and light for nighttime procedures.Dramatic improvements in test scores for children in school.Significant increases in wealth and opportunity for rural entrepreneurs and smallholder farmers.If you are looking for a challenge to join one of the leading solar minigrid companies and help us scale by:If you are up for the challenge of scaling our Project Delivery team while providing electricity to thousands of customers, then please send your CV and cover letter to [email protected] by April 15, 2025.The role's responsibilities include: Be a key player on Energicity's senior management team driving the growth strategy and ensuring the necessary alignment across all functions so that the delivery engine of the business scales according to plan.Building the leading construction team in solar minigrids Hire and manage training of construction managers that can operate independently and develop teams across Energicity's footprint.Maintain and grow a culture of safety from the top-line managers all the way through interns and subcontractors.Build and improve construction processes to create an organization that can build projects repeatably while incorporating changes and improvements rapidly throughout the organization.Create teams that can generate, track, and report on budgets for reporting and ensuring projects are built sustainably.Manage teams to ensure a high commitment to Energicity's environmental and social values and ensure adherence to all local and environmental commitments through the implementation of our Environmental and Social Management Plans.Manage project planning and logistics to ensure on-time delivery of projects Define strategy and build a project planning team to manage many projects in parallel across multiple countries.Achieve on-time project logistics ensuring teams and equipment are on site for timely completion.Collaborate with and ensure coordination across finance and operations teams for achievement of projects through handoff to operations.Collaborate with engineering to effectively ensure agile design processes work hand in glove with construction teams Work with engineering to ensure high-quality design of projects that provide the lowest cost of energy over the lifetime of the project.Work with engineering to incorporate learnings from construction and new developments in technology to update designs and installation procedures.Skills, Experiences, and CommitmentsAdvanced degree in Engineering or Business required.10+ years of experience with distributed energy and/or construction project execution, preferably with experiences from both the African context and international context.Experience with project planning preferred, including any project management certification (either traditional PMP management or agile management).Must have experience in cost estimation and financial budgeting for construction or other financial management experience.Experience in working in start-ups with a track record of scaling to hyper growth.Fluency in English required, preference for candidates who are also fluent in French.Must be passionate about African rural electrification.Strong preference for candidates who live in or are willing to relocate to Benin/Sierra Leone/Liberia.
