VP of Development - League of American Orchestras : Job Details

The League of American Orchestras leads, supports, and champions America's orchestras and the vitality of the music they perform. With a diverse membership of more than 2,000 organizations and individuals across North America, the League connects a national network of instrumentalists, conductors, managers, administrators, and more. It serves as a hub of knowledge, innovation, and advocacy through conferences, events, and publications like Symphony magazine. Founded in 1942, the League is the only national organization dedicated solely to the orchestral experience.

This is a full-time remote role for the Vice President of Development. The VP of Development will be responsible for leading and managing all fundraising activities, including individual giving, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and special events. The role involves developing and implementing fundraising strategies, building relationships with donors, and working with the Board of Directors and staff to achieve fundraising goals. Additionally, the VP of Development will oversee donor communications and ensure accurate tracking and reporting of fundraising activities.

• Experience in individual giving and corporate sponsorships
• Knowledge of foundation grants and special events fundraising
• Proven ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies
• Strong relationship-building skills with donors and stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with donor communications and tracking/reporting fundraising activities
• Leadership and management experience in a non-profit environment
• Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, or related field
• Passion for the arts and orchestral music is a plus
• Ability to work independently and remotely
