Role: VP of Constructability – Multifamily

Location: Remote (Must reside in California)

About the Company

SECCA Search Group is partnering with a Top 10 national public developer to hire a Vice President of Constructability for their growing multifamily division. This high-impact, fully remote role is ideal for a seasoned construction executive with deep expertise in constructability review, preconstruction planning, and value engineering for large-scale multifamily projects. The VP will work cross-functionally with design, development, and construction teams to ensure project efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness from concept through execution.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the constructability review process for all multifamily development projects, identifying risks and proposing design and construction solutions
• Collaborate with development and design teams to optimize project plans, budgets, and schedules prior to start of construction
• Provide expert guidance on construction means, methods, and materials to improve buildability and reduce change orders
• Analyze construction documents for quality control and ensure alignment with company standards and best practices
• Drive innovation in construction techniques, sustainable practices, and value engineering to enhance profitability and product quality
• Serve as a subject matter expert during RFPs, contractor selection, and contract negotiations
• Build strong relationships with external consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors to foster collaboration and accountability
• Mentor and support project managers and field teams to implement constructability recommendations throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in multifamily construction, with a proven track record in constructability review and preconstruction planning
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
• Extensive experience with wood-frame and podium multifamily construction, preferably for public developers or national homebuilders
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, high-budget projects in a fast-paced environment

Required Skills:

• Deep knowledge of multifamily construction methods, design development processes, and building code compliance
• Strong understanding of cost estimating, scheduling, and value engineering principles
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals
• Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office suite
