The role will develop a highly adaptable and scalable long-term blueprint for a retail operation that includes Nets & Liberty merchandising, private label brands, onboarding merchandising capabilities for new BSE businesses, third party collaborations and both in-venue & in-market physical retail.The Vice President will lead a team and be responsible for setting goals/KPIs, architecting measurement and reporting frameworks and utilizing insights to best deliver results against business objectives, in concert with our operating partner. The individual should bring a wealth of retail experience, operational expertise and a deep base of industry relationships to continuously optimize the omnichannel consumer experience, align assortments with BSE brand priorities and elevate design, quality & accessibility. The individual will have proven success in driving operational efficiencies, brand building and fueling commercial opportunities.What You Will DoLead a high-performing team focused upon strategic planning for Nets & Liberty merchandising across retail and e-commerce, ensuring we achieve desired goals and outcomesCollaborate with our operating partner to govern integration model, lead quarterly business reviews, set sales projections, establish pricing models and craft annual programming calendarsSteward inventory planning and the open-to-buy process, in concert with our operating partnerWork to consistently optimize the in-venue retail experience: analyzing the fan journey, technology, wait time, check-out, store layout, product assortments, etc.Develop a strong feedback loop to integrate consumer insights into our strategy, influencing how we approach product development, inventory planning & in-venue experienceWork with NBA & WNBA executives to ensure the Nets and Liberty are maximizing retail opportunities and leveraging best-in-class practices & productsCraft commercial and product development plans for private label brands, Nets & Liberty entertainers and new BSE properties, inclusive of licensing opportunities and IP extensionsLiaise with our operating partner and Global Partnerships department to identify, negotiate, implement and co-market best-in-class partnerships with leading retail brands and collaboratorsCoordinate with Marketing and Communications teams to develop retail marketing & PR strategies and tactics for each brand, launch & collectionOversee operational elements such as RFP processes, warehouse space and vendor relationshipsExplore retail business extensions inclusive of in-venue retail, new product lines and licensing opportunitiesPartner closely with the DAI and Finance teams to establish rigorous standards for and deliver comprehensive reporting/analysis to senior leadership on business operations and performanceWhat You Will Bring15+ years of experience across retail, visual merchandising and/or licensing industriesExtensive experience leading omni-channel merchandising in complex environments, with demonstrated success driving efficient operations, product development and revenue growthA proven track record of success in driving retail performance, growth and operations for leading brands, retailers and/or licenseesUnderstanding of the licensing business and experience working within lifestyle & sports sectors, is a major plusBackground in negotiating deals and contracts across retail, licensing and vendor agreementsExcellent relationship building skills and a strong network of contacts across Product Manufacturers, Retailers and LicenseesWho You AreThoughtful teammate and solutions-oriented executive, capable of addressing & resolving business issues and influencing key stakeholders to align around shared goalsCreative individual who loves to innovate and bring unique new products to marketAgile, and motivated by a fast-paced and consistently evolving, matrixed environmentAnalytical minded, data-driven decision-makerExcellent attention to detail, project leadership and operational acumenStrong, oral and written communicator, including ability to clearly present ideasStay up to date with industry trends and use this knowledge to inform business strategiesSALARY RANGE$185,000 - $220,000WORK ENVIRONMENTWorks primarily in an office environment.
