Opportunity OverviewJoin us on a bold new venture — launching a dedicated livestock insurance providerserving the USDA Livestock Insurance Programs. We're looking for a visionary VP ofFinance to architect our financial strategy, scale operations, and play a key role intransforming how risk is managed in the $10B USDA livestock insurance market.ObjectivesReporting to the President of the Company, the incumbent will be responsible forexecuting with excellence the financial operations of the Company, satisfying therequirements of clients, shareholders, and regulators.Key Responsibilities1. Financial Operations Managementa. Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accountsreceivable, payroll, and general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance2. Financial Planning and Analysisa. Lead the budgeting and monitoring functions, ensuring that board-approvedbudgets are adhered to and that deviations are addressed thoroughly andimmediately3. Regulatory Reportinga. Oversee, review, and execute periodic reporting to the USDA as required bythe Livestock Price Reinsurance Agreement (LPRA)4. Audit Managementa. Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with therelevant state and federal requirementsQualifications1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance or Accounting at an ApprovedInsurance Provider (AIP)a. 10 years of experience, plus leadership or managerial experience stronglypreferred2. Education in a relevant field and CPA strongly preferred3. Familiarity with the reporting requirements of the USDA crop/livestock insuranceprograms4. Proficiency in accounting software5. Strong leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrable track record ofleading a team to achieve targeted outcomesWhat we offer1.
