Volunteer - Weldon City Schools : Job Details

Volunteer Position Summary (THIS IS NOT A PAID POSITION) The Volunteer supports the mission of Weldon City Schools by contributing time, skills, and energy to enhance educational programs, assist staff, and enrich the learning experience for students. Volunteers may serve in classrooms, school events, extracurricular programs, or other approved activities that align with district needs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist teachers, staff, and administrators with instructional or non-instructional activities as directed.
• Support classroom projects, tutoring, mentoring, or small group work under staff supervision.
• Participate in school events, field trips, and extracurricular activities, as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information in accordance with district policy and state/federal laws (FERPA).
• Model professional behavior, respectful communication, and a positive attitude.
• Follow all Weldon City Schools policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and community members.
• Dependability and willingness to follow directions and maintain a regular volunteer schedule.

Requirements

• Successful completion of Weldon City Schools volunteer application process.
• Successful background check in accordance with district policy.
• Board of Education approval prior to beginning volunteer service.
• Compliance with all Weldon City Schools policies and procedures, including confidentiality requirements.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a school setting with potential exposure to typical childhood illnesses and classroom noise levels.
• Hours and days of service will vary based on school needs and volunteer availability.
