A social services organization in New York City is actively seeking a dedicated professional to join their Manhattan-based Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team as a Vocational Specialist.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Perm)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)
- Department: Behavioral Health
- Team: Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)
- Fieldwork: 5 days/week, primarily throughout Manhattan
Responsibilities:
- Integrate vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the ACT Team members
- Assist through all phases of the vocational service provision
- Perform routine clinical services as a member of the ACT Team
- Oversee the recipients and for charting services
- Ensure revisions to the plan as the participant's needs change
- Advocate for the rights and preferences of the participant, whenever possible
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience working with persons who are seriously mentally ill
- Bachelors Degree
- Computer savvy
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
