Vocational Specialist ACT - Veterans Staffing : Job Details

$1250 sign on bonus Unity House of Troy is seeking a dynamic and recovery-oriented Vocational Specialist to join our multidisciplinary ACT Team. The Vocational Specialist provides individualized support to help people with serious mental illness achieve their employment and educational goals. This role is integral in promoting recovery, skill development, and community integration through person-centered support.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct vocational assessments and develop career profiles.
• Assist individuals with job readiness, securing employment, and maintaining educational/vocational pursuits.
• Collaborate with the ACT Team to integrate employment goals into comprehensive service plans.
• Provide coaching and skill-building for success in work and school settings.
• Build relationships with employers and vocational agencies; educate them about mental health accommodations and supports.
• Provide trauma-informed care to all individuals.
• Maintain electronic health record and timely documentation of all services provided including service planning, progress, notes, and all other documentation as needed.
• Promote a culture of inclusion and belonging.
• Assist with other support services as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in human service related field.
• One year of experience or training in supported employment, IPS, or psychosocial rehabilitation.
• Strong understanding of how mental health symptoms impact functioning in workplace or academic settings.
• Must have a reliable form of transportation, Valid NYS driver's license.
