This position will monitor Museum Floor operations for the enjoyment, safety, and security ofguests, to engage the guests in activities conduct demonstration activities to guests in the STEAMLab, assist the Floor Staff Manager position by handling ticket sales if needed, notifying theFacility Manager of issues on layouts or with mechanical materials in the museum related to guestusage. The Floor Staff will also be asked to assist with school or senior field trip groups arrivingat the museum, as well as birthday parties that may occur in the museum.REPORTS TO: Director Education and Guest ServicesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Present a positive, professional image as an ambassador for the MuseumMonitor the Museum Floor operations during business hoursAssist and engage Guests and Volunteers present at the museum for field trips, birthdayparties, or special eventsHave a working knowledge of all exhibits and be able instruct guests about exhibitoperations and facilitate their interactionsHandle all situations ensuring the safety of Museum guests and the security of Museumfacilities, equipment and suppliesTo receive, organize and accompany field trip groups as assignedProvide tours and other programs as assignedLead live appropriate programming for public audiences and field tripsKeep the Museum, including the gift shop and outdoor park, free of trash and debrisConduct routine maintenance as appropriate in museum areasPerform other duties as assignedFollow all Museum policies and proceduresPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representativeof those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of thisposition. This role routinely uses standardmuseum and office equipment such as computers, phones, exhibit machinery, andprinters/scanners.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:In accordance with the museum's work-day schedule and current salary range as approved bythe Board of Directors. Evening/night and weekend work hours required as needed. NOTE: Thework week for this position is currently Monday - Friday; however scheduled work hours will beadjusted at times according to the needs and events of the department and museum. Participationin certain special events, evenings, weekends, and holidays will be necessary at times and/ormandatory.
