Visiting Research Technician - IGB - University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign : Job Details

This Research Technician position will be responsible for assisting with genotyping and phenotyping plants. They will help the postdoc and graduate student leading investigation of stomata and water use efficiency. Duties & Responsibilities. Screening plants via genotyping and phenotyping. Phenotyping traits related to stomata, photosynthesis, and water-use efficiency. Designing and making transgenic plants Maintaining plants in greenhouse and growth chambers for experimentation. Additional Physical Demands. Work may be done in greenhouses, laboratories, and field environments. Minimum Qualifications. Bachelor's degree in a biological sciences or related field, with a strong background in molecular genetics or physiology. Experience in assessing plant traits and characteristics, including growth, development, and stress responses. Proficiency in lab techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA sequencing, and cloning.
