Job TitleVisiting FellowDepartmentFAES | Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering-JMThe Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE) in the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) at The Ohio State University (OSU) is seeking a candidate to research in the field of polymer science.Responsibilities Will Include

• Measuring polymer molecular weights with our new Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC) equipment.
• Producing drug-eluting fiber mats.
• Measuring mechanical properties of the mats – tensile strength and moduli.
• Measuring drug elution using UV spectroscopy.
• Maintaining equipment used in the lab.

Skills Needed

• Safety is first priority – familiarity with safety in a chemical lab.
• Familiarity with molecular weight measurements.
• Familiarity with tensile testing.
• Familiarity with UV spectroscopy.
• Good communication skills – report writing and scientific presentations.
