The role involves teaching undergraduate students, developing curriculum, and participating in departmental activities to promote the growth of the dance program. Key Responsibilities: - Teach a range of dance courses, including technique, choreography, and dance theory, to undergraduate students. - Develop and implement innovative curriculum that meets the educational standards and goals of the dance department. - Mentor and advise students on academic and career paths in dance. - Engage in scholarly activities and research to contribute to the field of dance. - Collaborate with faculty and staff to organize performances, workshops, and other events that enhance the visibility and impact of the dance program. - Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and initiatives. - Maintain a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of teaching and departmental activities. Qualifications Required Education: - Terminal degree(Masters, Ph.D) Required Experience: - Demonstrated experience in teaching dance at the college or university level. - Proven track record of scholarly research and/or creative work in the field of dance. - Experience in curriculum development and academic advising within a higher education setting. Required Skills and Abilities: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, faculty, and staff. - Ability to teach a range of dance styles and techniques, including contemporary and classical forms. - Proficiency in integrating technology and innovative teaching methods into dance education. - Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment. - Capability to collaborate on interdisciplinary projects and initiatives within the academic community.
