SALARY LEVEL Pay level for this position: GS 11–12: $63,163.00–$117,034.00 Salary is commensurate with base, locality, and availability pay. MAJOR DUTIES Respond to crime scenes to assess, triage, and provide direct, in-person, crisis intervention services. Refer victims for assistance with counseling, employment, housing, immigration, and medical and legal services. Maintain relationships with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure adequate resources. Identify, develop, and maintain emergency and follow-up resources within the community, state, and/or federal arena. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to create presentations and prepare clear, comprehensive, and concise documents and reports. Coordinate forensic interviews and sexual assault examinations. Serve as an advocate for victims of crime by offering emotional support and maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality. Treat all individuals with patience, sensitivity, respect, and dignity. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-11: Applicant must possess at least one year of specialized experience (SE) equivalent to the GS-9 grade level. SE is defined as follows: Work within a law enforcement or victim service agency to assess, triage, and provide crisis intervention and assistance to victims at the time they suffered direct or threatened physical, emotional, psychological, or pecuniary (financial) harm as a result of a violent crime. Perform direct client services and/or program development functions. GS-12: Applicant must possess at least one year of specialized experience (SE) equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. SE is defined as follows: In addition to the above: Provide consultation and technical assistance to local agencies. Develop training materials. Coordinate activities relating to the administration of programs for victims of violent crime. KEY REQUIREMENTS Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance. Must be willing to travel as required. Must meet the FBI's Employment Eligibility requirements. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or higher from a U.S. accredited college or university in behavioral or social science, or a discipline related to the victim assistance field, including but not limited to: Criminal Justice, Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Victimology, Gender and Women Studies.
