Pay Range

Hiring Range: $52,251 - $62,701 Annually

Pay Range: $52,251 - $73,151 Annually

Range Explanation:

  • Hiring Range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will consider your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.

  • Pay Range is the entire compensation range for the position.

This position supervises and participates in Victim Advocates' work in providing crisis intervention services to crime victims and witnesses for the Pima County Attorney's Office.

Essential Functions:
  • Provides crisis intervention services to victims and witnesses;

  • Informs and advises victims of their statutory rights and protections within the criminal justice system according to Arizona Victims' Rights Laws;

  • Interprets, recommends, drafts, and implements policies or procedures related to crime victim advocacy;

  • Researches, determines, and refers appropriate community resources to assist victims and witnesses;

  • Prepares analysis and reports on related topics and creates periodic reports based on statistical information;

  • Develops and delivers training to volunteers, law enforcement, social service agencies, and the public regarding crisis intervention and crime victim issues;

  • Performs community outreach by attending meetings and seminars to educate community organizations about the Victim Services Program;

  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates Victim Advocates and volunteers;

  • Organizes and coordinates special projects, events, or trainings;

  • Maintains security and confidentiality of information encountered in duties;

  • Develops and maintains relationships with county attorney staff, law enforcement, medical, and social service personnel;

  • Carries a felony and/or misdemeanor caseload;

  • Participates in staff meetings and ongoing training.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral science or a closely-related field, AND three years of experience as a Victim Advocate.

(One calendar year of volunteer experience in the Pima County Victim Witness Volunteer Program with at least 240 hours satisfies one year of experience.)

Relevant education and experience may be substituted.

OR:

Three years in a Victim Advocate role within Pima County.

Qualifying education and experience must be documented in the application; resumes are not accepted as substitutes.

Selection Process:

Applicants will be evaluated based on education and experience. Candidates meeting minimum qualifications may be further assessed and scored against preferred qualifications. The successful candidate will be selected through interviews and additional assessments if required.

Additional Information:

Licenses and Certificates: Valid driver license required at application and appointment. A 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review will be conducted. Failure to maintain required licenses/certifications may result in termination. Employment is contingent upon review of driving record.

Background Checks: Pre-employment background checks, including criminal history, work history, and education verification, are required. Some positions may require additional background investigations or bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
