About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice Principal of Academic Affairs to take on a pivotal role in the oversight of daily operations, administrative functions, and instructor management. The successful candidate will be responsible for the professional development and training of instructors, as well as their direct supervision, evaluation, and support. This includes maintaining instructor records in the Training Management System and contributing to the design and creation of curriculum materials. The role also involves coordinating facilities and logistics for off-site training, ensuring the availability of necessary resources, and utilizing strong organizational and operational skills to manage the academic department effectively. Applicants for the Vice Principal of Academic Affairs position at the company should hold, at a minimum, an STCW Management or Operational Level License and a bachelors degree, or have equivalent military or government service. A strong background in maritime training administration, familiarity with course delivery guidelines, and a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a leadership role within an operational setting, knowledge of maritime safety regulations and procedures, and experience in managing and developing instructional staff. The role also requires the ability to support strategic planning, represent the operations department in meetings with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with the company's quality management system.
