The Finance division partners with business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial resources. The Vice President will be responsible for reviewing federal and state income tax returns, tax provision and tax analytics, and will help manage the Firm's domestic and international tax strategies, transfer pricing policies and advisory support to Senior Management and business units on products, strategic transactions and restructuring objectives. This role ensures compliance with income and indirect tax filings, reports tax information for regulatory filings, manages global tax authority relationships (including tax controversy) and monitors relevant tax regulations and legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Tax compliance management, oversight for a high volume of tax adjustments, Federal and state corporate income tax returns in a time-sensitive environment for multiple legal entities across different businesses
  • Active participation in preparation of Federal consolidated forms and schedules
  • Assist with preparation of unitary and combined state and local tax returns
  • Tax analysis, planning and analytics
  • Tax audit support, including responding to IDRs
  • Tax provision management and review including separate company financial statements, monthly and quarterly ETR calculations
  • Review of quarterly federal and state deferred tax balances for regulatory reporting purposes
  • Preparation and review of separate company income tax provision and footnote for audited financial statements
  • Review monthly and quarterly effective tax rates
  • Reconciliation and validation of income tax accounts and balance sheet tax accounts
  • Analysis of income tax accounting impact of transactions
  • Special projects

Qualifications

  • Approximately 10-12 years of hands-on income tax experience in a corporate environment or public accounting firm
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in tax or accounting
  • Advanced understanding of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment and technical skills, as well as industry and competitive environment
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and written and oral communication skills
  • Experience covering complex tax issues in a real-time environment
  • Significant tax compliance and ASC 740 experience
  • Strong managerial skills, with a hands-on approach
  • Superior work ethic with high level of accountability
  • Facility with Excel; knowledge of Corptax a plus
  • Financial services industry experience preferable, but not required
  • Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback and acknowledge efforts of team members
  • Ability to articulate risk and impact to various audiences, and create plans to mitigate those risks

Compensation

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $205,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Base pay is individualized and may be part of a broader compensation package that may include bonuses and other incentives.
