We're seeking a future team member for the role ofVice President, Scrum Lead/Project Manager IIto join ourStructured Debt Engineering Platform Teamteam. This role is located inNew York, NY

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Manages multiple medium to large projects, being primary contact for clients and other groups within the organization.
  • Guides the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
  • Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
  • Develops a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the projects being managed.
  • Takes hands-on approach for the end-to-end project management activities such as project level reporting, planning, issue/risk identification and tracking, scope management, estimation, client management, relationship management and other documentation.
  • Ensure that technical projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manages communication with the business at a detailed functional level and discusses/resolves issues.
  • Manages client expectations and ensures project delivery is in conformance with Program/Project Best Practices methodologies and standards.
  • Serves as a liaison between clients and internal technical groups to ensure delivery of medium to large scale projects on time, within budget, and is in conformance with company methodologies and standards.
  • Manages communication with the business at a detailed functional level and discusses/resolves issues.
  • Conducts status meetings and facilitates risk mitigation and resolution of more complex issues.
  • Contributes to and responsible for multiple teams' goals&objectives.
  • Recommends enhancements to project management tools/techniques and company methodologies.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business management, engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
  • Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP), CSM, or SAFe (or equivalent).
  • 8+ years of related technical Project management/ Scrum master experience.
  • Experience working in a hybrid model of project execution including Waterfall, Agile, and combination of both.
  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
  • Experience with operations, technology, and the financial services industry.
  • Experience with planning of multiple large projects in terms of scheduling, LOE/estimation techniques, stakeholder coordination, managing budget, and end-to-end execution.
  • Knowledge of numerous well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous burndown techniques, numerous retrospective formats, handling defects, etc.)
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games, etc.
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team.
  • Experience with deriving and managing project metrics, statistics and reporting the same at different levels.
  • Experience with Agile practice, project management and working in hybrid methodologies.
  • Experience with issues resolution and conflict management.
  • Previous experience as a manager.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Experience working in technology/development role earlier in the career.
  • Exposure to cloud environment and large distributed, client facing apps is a big plus.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $83,000 and $179,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
