Role Overview: Banking as a Service (BaaS) offered by BNY is a financial service that allows FinTechs, MSBs, MTLs, and Corporates to offer banking products to their customers without being banks themselves. BNY's BaaS strategy is defined as powering our bank and non-bank clients to provide self-branded, account-based financial services to their customers.

We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Product Management, Data Management & Quantitative Analysis to join our Banking as a Service Fraud Strategies Team within Treasury Services. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA - Hybrid, On-Site (3 days in office, 2 days from home a week).

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Fraud Analytics
  • Provide support as one of our fraud strategy analysts, safeguarding our card portfolio against various threats such as card-not-present fraud, bot attacks, and enumeration schemes while continuously adapting to ever-evolving fraud methodologies and trends.
  • Develop and implement transactional fraud strategies through our decisioning engine utilizing data and analytics.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of these strategies for continuous reporting, tracking, and risk oversight.
  • Maintain, create, and supervise alert and detection queues.
  • Collaborate with fraud operations, investigations, enterprise fraud team, and client / other teams to cohesively approach balancing fraud
  • Developing effective monitoring and oversight for cross-functional processes, inclusive of performance reporting and newly identified opportunities for collaboration across teams
  • Lead and support additional Risk and Governance activities supporting the Banking as a Service agenda.
  • Engage with networks and processors (e.g., Visa, Fiserv) on best practices, capabilities, industry trends, score models, and evolving fraud protection mechanisms

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • 5-7 years of experience in fraud detection, analytics, prevention in the card space
  • Proven ability to work in a high pace, high pressure environment
  • Proven card payments industry knowledge and understanding of end-to-end processing.
  • Proficiency with analytic tools (SQL, R studios, Excel, Power BI) and transaction fraud systems (e.g. Defense Edge, Actimize).
  • Experience in data mining, query creation, data extract/import, AI/ML Models.
  • Effective collaboration with colleagues and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong skills in data analysis and decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience in agile environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
