In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for shaping and leading the company's human resources strategy, fostering a positive workplace culture, and supporting the growth and development of our team. As a key member of the leadership team, you will work closely with executives and department heads to align our people strategy with business goals, promote employee engagement, and ensure compliance with employment regulations.You will oversee all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and organizational learning and development—while championing our values and helping to create a workplace where employees feel supported, valued, and empowered.Key ResponsibilitiesCulture & Core Values
  • Serve as a visible leader and culture champion by consistently upholding and modeling TFP's CORE Values and promoting the Company's MISSION.
  • Ensure accountability across all departments for the practice and reinforcement of these CORE Values.
  • Actively partner with leaders to embed values into day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making.
Strategy & Policy Alignment
  • Understand and contribute to Total Fire Protection's overall business strategy, growth initiatives, and operational goals.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to leadership, providing insight and counsel on people-related matters that align with Company objectives.
  • Annually review and propose enhancements to policies, procedures, and practices affecting personnel.
HR Leadership & Compliance
  • Direct and manage all aspects of the Human Resources function, ensuring full legal and regulatory compliance at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of employment legislation and industry trends to keep the Company ahead of compliance risk.
  • Consult legal counsel as needed on labor, employment, and benefits matters.
  • Oversee administration of Payroll, Disability, Worker's Compensation, Unemployment, and Medical/Ancillary Benefits, as well as 401(k) plans.
  • Ensure proper documentation, storage, and management of employee records, both digital and physical, per applicable legal standards.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
  • Own and oversee the full recruiting process: from sourcing and evaluation to onboarding and integration of new hires.
  • Lead the development and execution of recruiting strategies that attract top talent aligned with TFP's growth goals and culture.
  • Coordinate new hire processes: offer letters, Day-1 paperwork, onboarding sessions, team introductions, etc.
  • Ensure all onboarding efforts reflect the company's commitment to a professional, inclusive, and values-driven workplace.
Talent Development & Performance
  • Lead the design and implementation of a Performance Management System, including annual reviews, continuous feedback, and a structured wage and salary program.
  • Build a cross-departmental Talent Development Program to promote internal growth, succession planning, and career pathing.
  • Develop, expand, and enhance the existing TFP University Curriculum to support long-term employee development and company-wide training initiatives.
  • Deliver employee training and development initiatives using internal tools and industry resources.
  • Ensure consistency, equity, and compliance in all training, promotion, and disciplinary procedures.
Employee Relations & Engagement
  • Maintain a strong pulse on company culture through regular communication and feedback loops.
  • Proactively monitor current and future trends to drive innovation and culture within the organization.
  • Coordinate team building events, internal communications, and employee experiences in collaboration with the Culture Club.
  • Administer the Progressive Disciplinary Program, exit interviews, and conflict resolution with fairness and adherence to regulations.
  • Act as a unifying leader to connect HR functions with department-specific needs and goals.
HR Technology & Office Administration
  • Oversee and manage the Company's HRIS system to meet personnel data, compliance, and reporting needs.
  • Supervise the General Office Administration team and ensure smooth, professional office operations.
  • Lead efforts in process efficiency mapping, collaborating with departments to streamline workflows and document best practices.
Metrics & Reporting
  • Regularly report to Executive Leadership on HR performance metrics, workforce trends, and organizational health.
  • Use data and insights to drive informed decision-making across talent, culture, and organizational development.
Additional FunctionsSome flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 AM. To 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Some travel, occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.Experience
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of HRIS systems, ADP-Workforce Now preferred.
  • HR Expertise in all HR-related administrative matters.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field; Master's in Human Resource Administration or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 10+ years related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professional in Human Resources Certification (PHR -HRCI); SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP); Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR-HRCI) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credentials preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • This position may require specific physical demands that can vary, but generally include sitting for extended periods of time, utilizing a computer and general office equipment, light lifting, occasional walking and standing, and good visual acuity for computer work.
