Director-level role: VP of Operations for Din Tai Fung North America. The VP of Operations is a senior leader responsible for driving operational excellence across all restaurants and central kitchens, blending strategic leadership with hands-on oversight to elevate the guest experience, enhance team member engagement, deliver financial results, and support scalable growth.

Base pay range

$240,000.00/yr - $310,000.00/yr

About the Role

The VP of Operations is a senior leader responsible for driving operational excellence across all restaurants and central kitchens. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on operational oversight to elevate the guest experience, enhance team member engagement, deliver financial results, and support scalable growth. As a key member of the executive team, the VP of Operations sets the tone for excellence in execution, innovation, and culture.

Responsibilities
  • Guest Experience & Operational Excellence: Lead initiatives that elevate the guest experience by optimizing service models, improving food quality, and leveraging technology to streamline operations. Establish and scale systems that ensure consistent execution and hospitality across all locations.
  • Team Member Experience & Culture: Champion a workplace culture aligned with our Team Member Value Proposition. Support locations in providing an engaging, inclusive, and high-performing environment where team members are empowered and recognized.
  • Talent Strategy & Leadership Development: Build and sustain a strong bench of leadership by attracting, retaining, and developing top talent. Own the strategic talent pipeline by selecting top talent, strengthening leadership capabilities, and fostering a culture of accountability.
  • Financial Commitments & Operational Efficiency: Drive revenue growth through optimized throughput. Manage labor, COGS, and general operations to control expenses. Analyze trends and partner with Finance to drive informed, profitable decisions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Drive the creation of and execution of processes, practices and procedures that ensure all locations adhere to relevant health, safety, labor, and industry regulations. Deliver a safe product.
  • Brand Reputation and Expansion: Protect and grow the brand by ensuring operational consistency and readiness for growth. Collaborate cross-functionally on new restaurant openings to ensure site readiness, talent deployment, and day-one excellence in execution and guest experience.
Job Requirements
  • 10+ years of multi-unit operations leadership experience, preferably within high-growth restaurant or hospitality brands
  • Proven ability to scale systems, people, and processes in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong P&L management experience, with a track record of improving financial performance
  • Deep knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, and guest service standards
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and change leadership skills
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field; MBA preferred
