About the Company:

We are assisting our client in their search for a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Operations for a waste-to-energy operations based in the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area. This pivotal role offers relocation support and provides an opportunity to lead in a dynamic environment focusing on Lean principles, overseeing multiple sites, and managing both unionized and non-unionized operations.

Role Overview:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President of Operations of waste-to-energy will drive safe, efficient, and profitable operations across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate must possess previous waste-to-energy experience, demonstrating expertise in this critical aspect of operations. Responsibilities include P&L management, coordination between facilities and support teams, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and fostering a high-performance culture.

How You ll Shape the Future of Talent:

  • Must have previous waste-to-energy experience
  • Champion safety as a top priority and foster a culture of operational excellence
  • Drive P&L targets through effective waste management, routing, and execution strategies
  • Coach and develop operations leaders in safety, P&L management, and event execution
  • Assess talent and identify succession planning opportunities
  • Lead community involvement activities to demonstrate the company's value proposition
  • Drive change management initiatives and ensure standard reporting using KPIs
  • Partner with engineering for capital expenditure planning and facility master planning
  • Serve as a Lean Management champion and implement process improvements

You ll Be Someone Who Can Bring:

  • 10+ years of progressive operations management experience with 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Experience managing multiple operational sites with a focus on safety and P&L management
  • Lean Certification desirable; solid business acumen required
  • Bachelor s degree in engineering, business, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Ability to foster a culture of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship
  • Experience interacting with regulators, legislators, and community organizations preferred
