Job Title: Vice President of Sales & Operations
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
About the Role:
Our client, an established and growing company in the manufacturing and distribution sector, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Vice President of Sales & Operations to oversee and integrate the company's revenue and operational functions. This role will serve as a critical member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving profitable growth, enhancing operational efficiency, and delivering superior customer satisfaction.
The role is based in Illinois, with a strong preference for candidates located in or willing to relocate to the Greater Chicagoland area. Candidates residing elsewhere in Illinois must be able to travel to the Chicago headquarters every other week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the development and execution of the company's sales strategy to drive top-line revenue growth.
- Manage and mentor the sales team, establishing clear performance goals and accountability.
- Build strong customer relationships and identify opportunities to expand existing business.
- Lead key pricing, product positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
Operations Management
- Oversee all day-to-day operations, including supply chain, distribution, logistics, and production (if applicable).
- Implement operational best practices and KPIs to improve efficiency, cost control, and customer service.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to align operations with overall business goals.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and employee engagement.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales, operations, or general management, preferably within manufacturing or distribution.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing sales teams and scale operational infrastructure.
- Strong business acumen with experience managing P&L and driving financial performance.
- Track record of successfully building customer relationships and leading strategic initiatives.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Location & Travel Requirements:
- Candidates located in Illinois are preferred.
- Candidates from outside Illinois must be willing to relocate to the Greater Chicago area (relocation support available).
- For candidates located elsewhere in Illinois, travel to Chicago HQ every other week is required.
