About the Role
The VP of Preconstruction is the principal point of contact with the design team and the owner. You will join an executive leadership team working with local leaders in healthcare and life sciences. Project markets include healthcare, hospitals, medical facilities, life sciences, labs, higher education, and general commercial sectors, covering ground-up construction as well as tenant improvements and finish-outs.
Responsibilities
Lead the preconstruction effort by collaborating with the design team and owner.Utilize industry-leading technology to manage projects efficiently.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and developers.Manage preconstruction activities while developing high-performing teams.Provide analytical and problem-solving leadership, including conceptual and detailed estimates, value engineering, on complex projects.Engage in design/coordination meetings and industry events, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.Required Skills
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in commercial preconstruction or related fields with a general contractor or major subcontractor.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Local knowledge of healthcare, hospitals, medical facilities, life sciences, labs, higher education, and commercial construction.
- Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in preconstruction management and value engineering.
- Bachelor's Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
