We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and relationship-focused Vice President of Philanthropy to lead our fundraising and philanthropic initiatives during a time of transformational growth and impact.Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio has been a vital part of the community for over a century, dedicated to improving lives through skill-building programs and services. While recognized for our retail thrift stores, our mission extends far beyond; we provide essential job training and support services that empower individuals to overcome barriers to employment.Position OverviewAs a vital member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Vice President of Philanthropy will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and be responsible for developing and executing a robust, multi-channel fundraising strategy. This includes corporate and foundation giving, major gifts, annual and planned giving, grant writing, donor stewardship, events, and an upcoming capital campaign.This individual will also serve as an advocate and ambassador for the organization, building meaningful relationships with donors, community leaders, and other stakeholders to enhance our visibility, increase support, and advance our mission.Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO and Executive Team to develop and implement the organization's strategic vision and philanthropic priorities.
- Design and execute a comprehensive development plan to grow and diversify revenue streams across corporate, foundation, and individual giving.
- Lead a multimillion-dollar capital campaign, from feasibility to full implementation.
- Build and manage a high-performing development program encompassing annual giving, major and planned gifts, events, and grants.
- Strengthen brand awareness and community engagement to enhance public understanding and investment in our mission.
- Cultivate and steward long-term relationships with key donors, stakeholders, and community influencers.
- Serve as the internal lead for fundraising strategy, planning, and campaign execution, including Board engagement and collaboration with the Board Development Committee.
- Represent the organization at public forums, conferences, and donor events.
- Provide accurate and timely development reports and analytics to the CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Directors.
- Oversee donor database systems, ensure data integrity, compliance, and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising/development, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
- Demonstrated success in leading capital campaigns, securing major gifts, and diversifying funding portfolios.
- Proven experience in donor cultivation and stewardship, grant writing, and event-based fundraising.
- Strong knowledge of fundraising best practices, donor database systems, and metrics-driven strategy.
- Financial acumen, including experience with budget planning and forecasting.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
- Passion for community-focused work and alignment with the organization's values.
