The Position:

The Vice President of Philanthropic Partnerships reports to the Chief of Staff. Responsibilities include expanding and diversifying the foundation's donor-advised fund (DAF) donor base by cultivating relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporate philanthropists, and professional advisors. The role involves leveraging expertise in philanthropic tax strategies, estate planning, and donor relations to grow DAF participation and ensure a seamless experience for fundholders. The VP will also manage the Donor Services Manager and Grants & Compliance Manager, ensuring cohesive service, compliance, and data management. Flexibility for occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends is required for donor events.

Responsibilities:

Donor Cultivation & Acquisition

  • Identify and engage prospective DAF donors, including high-net-worth individuals, family foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Conduct donor consultations on tax-efficient giving and philanthropic goals.
  • Develop customized giving strategies aligned with donors' values and objectives.

Strategic Partnerships & Advisor Engagement

  • Build relationships with estate planners, tax attorneys, and financial professionals.
  • Host educational events to inform advisors and clients about DAFs.
  • Provide tools and support for discussing philanthropy with clients.

Donor Stewardship & Retention

  • Ensure smooth onboarding for new fundholders with the Donor Services team.
  • Maintain engagement through personalized support and updates.
  • Conduct annual reviews to help fundholders refine their philanthropic focus.

Team Leadership & Data Management

  • Supervise the Donor Services and Grants & Compliance Managers.
  • Oversee secure, compliant data management practices.
  • Collaborate to enhance systems for engagement and compliance.

Legal & Financial Knowledge

  • Apply expertise in tax strategies, trusts, bequests, and estate planning.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and foundation policies.
  • Stay updated on trends in tax law and estate planning.

Other duties as assigned.

Other Information:

Full-time staff are expected to work in Downtown Brooklyn, Monday-Thursday, with occasional Friday events.
