About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Legal to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be a strategic and collaborative legal leader with a strong background in commercial contracts and compliance, particularly within high-growth, marketplace, or platform-based environments. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of the legal function, providing key legal advice to the executive team, and leading the legal function through strategic planning, budget oversight, and team development. The VP of Legal will be responsible for building scalable legal infrastructure, overseeing all legal functions, and directing corporate legal matters. They will also play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance, particularly in the areas of commercial, product, regulatory affairs, and compliance, as well as in managing outside counsel relationships. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate, active bar membership, and at least 15 years of legal experience, with a proven track record in commercial and compliance legal areas. Strong management skills, the ability to operate in ambiguity, and a passion for mentoring and building systems for long-term success are essential. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional partners in policy, communications, and safety, and the ability to anticipate and address legal issues in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. The VP of Legal will also be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing legal team and ensuring robust controls across data privacy, regulatory filings, and internal policies.
