Summary

In partnership with the President/CEO, develops and executes high-level Human Resources directives and strategies in alignment with organization-wide objectives.Leads all aspects of operational human resources, including salary administration, policies and procedures, performance management, payroll, benefits, talent management, compliance, and employee relations. Collaborates withthe senior management team, develops human resources strategies designed to meet employee needs while aligning with the organization's goals and mission. Establishes organizational human resources policies and sets standards governing recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, compensation and benefits planning. Advises subordinate staff and line management in the application of HR policies within the organization.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand OBRC, its products, services, and business direction.
  • Initiate and cultivate collaborative working relationships with the management and leadership across the organization.
  • Manage directly, or through subordinates, the human resource functions for talent acquisition and talent management and worksite employee relations by managing onsite relationships & communication across the organization.
  • Direct the activities of the Human Resources department, including advising and managing direct and indirect subordinates.
  • Plan, develop, and implement the overall salary administration program.
  • Develop, maintain and communicate performance appraisal policies and procedures.
  • Lead the design and administration of the company's payroll and benefits plans, ensuring that adequate coverage is available to all employees.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to the functions of recruitment, employee training, and development.
  • Conduct employee relations programs, ensuring adequate counseling and coaching for all employee/supervisor problems.
  • Ensure the company's legal compliance with laws and regulations covering labor relations, OSHA, EEO, workers' compensation, etc.
  • Make material presentations to business leaders.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or achievement of formal certifications recognized in industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
  • 8 to 10+ years' experience in a similar or related area or in-depth industry and job-specific technical skills acquired through a combination of formal instruction and on-the-job training.
  • SPHR Certification preferred

  • Ability to exercise advanced conflict resolution skills and to resolve issues impacting multiple departments or divisions.
  • Ability to motivate or influence others with a significant level of diplomacy and trust.
  • Ability to obtain cooperation (internally and/or externally) using a high level of interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organization skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency and professional knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels with both internal and external partners.
  • Ability to effectively manage people, plan and delegate workload, and manage employee performance.
  • Experience with coaching and mentoring direct reports and assisting with conflict resolution.
  • Ability to coach and mentor leaders at all levels.
  • A current driver's license and an acceptable driving history are required.
  • May require hours beyond 40 hours a week.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This role has direct supervisory responsibility.

Travel

  • Occasional local and out-of-area travel and rare overnight travel across the state.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Perform work in an indoor professional office environment.
  • Use standard office equipment and supplies.
  • Sit/stand for continuous periods at a desk and work on a computer, walk occasionally.
  • Use arms, wrists, hands and fingers to reach, grasp objects, use tools, and for writing and keyboarding.
  • Read, write, and speak to communicate effectively with others.
  • Listen to interpret comments and instructions received.
  • Visual abilities to be able to read printed documents and computer screens.
  • Lift, carry and push/pull to move office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.
  • Sit in a vehicle for extended periods when traveling between job sites.
