JOB TITLE: Vice President of Finance
REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer
LOCATION: Concord, NC (onsite)
COMPENSATION: Up to $250,000 base with 20% bonus
We are seeking a dynamic Vice President of Finance to lead the financial strategy and scalability of a well-established company in the Concord area. The company is targeting $500M+ in revenue within five years across multiple divisions including Commercial, Paint, Drywall, Plumbing, New Residential/Custom, Coastal, and Distribution.
The VP of Finance will ensure strong capital management, proactive risk mitigation, and financial discipline while partnering with the CEO and Executive Team on M&A, funding strategy, talent scaling, and operational expansion. This role is ideal for someone with experience of scaling businesses and growing start-up companies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead long-range financial planning and dynamic modeling to support 30%-40% annual revenue growth
- Provide actionable insights to guide leadership decisions and resource allocation
- Build and evolve the capital structure required for accelerated scale
Capital Markets & Funding
- Develop debt and equity funding strategies to support growth and M&A
- Manage relationships with banks, PE partners, bonding companies, and institutional lenders
- Support recapitalization efforts and funding for major initiatives and workforce expansion
M&A & Integration
- Drive financial diligence, integration planning, and post-close execution for acquisitions
- Align systems, controls, and reporting across acquired business units
- Monitor performance of acquired entities and drive integration outcomes
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Oversee FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, and internal controls
- Ensure accurate, timely close cycles and high-quality reporting
- Advance ERP and financial technology (Sage, Power BI, Bolt) to match enterprise scale
- Build scenario-based forecasting and cash flow modeling for decision-making
Workforce Planning & Compensation
- Partner with HR to align compensation models, incentive plans, and labor forecasting with business performance
- Manage payroll oversight, benefits funding, and total rewards strategies
- Support workforce planning and productivity optimization
Risk Management & Governance
- Lead proactive risk management, insurance programs, legal exposures, and compliance
- Maintain robust internal controls and separation of duties
- Drive enterprise-wide financial compliance and accountability
Leadership & Talent Development
- Build and mentor a high-performing Finance team capable of scaling with the company
- Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, IT, Legal, and Operations leadership
- Develop talent pipelines to support future succession
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Business required; MBA or CPA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of financial leadership, ideally VP Finance or divisional CFO roles
- Experience scaling businesses at 30%+ annual revenue growth
- Expertise in capital markets, funding, and recapitalization
- Proven track record leading M&A efforts and integration
- Familiarity with construction, field services, or project-based industries highly preferred
- Cross-functional leadership experience across Finance, HR, IT, and Risk
- Experience in PE-backed, family-owned, or founder-led businesses
- High tolerance for ambiguity and risk; thrives in entrepreneurial, high-growth settings
- Exceptional communication and team leadership skills
