The incumbent is responsible for all imaging-related equipment and the management of the installed base, including upgrades and replacements, adherence to contractual obligations, and collaboration with other impacted service lines. This position offers leadership and administrative oversight for planning, business growth, organizing, integrating, and staffing models for Radiology throughout Sutter in all acute and ambulatory imaging locations. The VP ensures that radiology and imaging services effectively interface with clinical service lines to provide and coordinate services and resources across the System. The incumbent guarantees high-quality, responsive radiology services that meet the needs of internal and external customers, comply with regulations, promote operational efficiency, maintain affordability, and ensure standardized processes to achieve optimal turnaround times and specialty-level imaging reads. The incumbent manages the development and implementation of cost-effective business growth initiatives across the Sutter Health footprint. The VP of Imaging coordinates activities across both acute and outpatient radiology departments to ensure strategic and operational alignment, as well as optimal utilization of equipment, supplies, and processes. The incumbent also fosters coordinated and harmonious working relationships within the dyadic partnerships and across acute care and ambulatory organization structures, including hospitals, outpatient care sites, and Service Line Executives.The primary office location of this position is Sacramento or Emeryville, California.Job Description:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, healthcare management, nursing, public health, business administration, or a related field.
Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA), Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a related field required.
Experience:
This position requires a minimum of ten years' experience in an imaging/radiology environment, preferably in a large physician practice, health system or hospital setting.
Prior demonstrated successful experience as a senior Imaging Services leader of a large health system organization is required.
A strong background in all aspects of acute hospital (large and small) and ambulatory environment is required.
Demonstrated ability in healthcare management with excellent experience in personnel management; management and integration of multiple entities; budget preparation and planning for multiple facilities; development and monitoring of staff productivity systems; quality improvement and establishment of quality standards and monitors; and development of other key management control systems for multi- entities is essential.
Experience in creating a strategic business plan and growth plan is required.
Experience working collaboratively with staff, key stakeholders and customers to achieve strategic outcomes.
Demonstrated success in major project coordination, implementation of successful cost containment initiatives, and contract negotiation is required.
Management experience in a union environment is preferred.
Knowledge:
Healthcare Regulations and Compliance: In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and compliance.
requirements relevant to clinical service lines, including but not limited to HIPAA, CMS regulations, and accreditation standards.
Quality Improvement Methodologies: Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) to drive performance improvement initiatives within clinical service lines.
Healthcare Technology: Understanding of healthcare information systems, electronic health records (EHR), and other technology solutions used in clinical settings to support efficient and effective care delivery.
Population Health Management: Knowledge of population health management principles and strategies to optimize patient outcomes, reduce healthcare disparities, and improve the health of communities served by the organization.
Trends and Challenges in Healthcare: Awareness of current trends, challenges, and emerging issues in healthcare, including value-based care, population health, healthcare reform, and the shift towards patient-centered care models.
Skills:
Strong leadership, management, and decision-making skills to effectively lead clinical teams, foster collaboration, and drive organizational objectives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, board members, and community partners.
Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans to enhance clinical service delivery, improve patient outcomes, and achieve organizational goals.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify challenges, develop innovative solutions, and implement process improvements within clinical service lines.
Proficiency in negotiation and conflict resolution to address competing priorities, resolve conflicts, and foster consensus among stakeholders.

Pay Range is $163.46 to $221.15 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
