Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Manage and own the technical execution for cloud under the guidance of the CTO, including cloud architecture, network design, cloud operations, and technical customer support.
  • Serve as the executive technical sponsor for platform initiatives, customer-impacting escalations, and strategic delivery engagements.
  • Contribute to technical vision with the CTO and the engineering team.
  • Responsible for the enforcement of the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of cloud systems in accordance with FedRAMP High security and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure all technical systems and processes enforce data authenticity, user verification, non-repudiation, and accountability in alignment with audit and traceability requirements.
  • Building and mentoring high-performing teams by fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, development of talent, and ensuring team members have the necessary skills and resources needed to execute.
  • Lead enterprise-level architecture reviews, ensuring technical coherence across networking, cloud platforms, and delivery pipelines.
  • Mentor and guide Principal Cloud and Network Architects in establishing resilient, compliant, and efficient cloud infrastructure.
  • Mentor and guide Senior Manager, Cloud Delivery in establishing resilient, compliant, and efficient cloud operations and technical customer support.
  • Define and execute the multi-year strategic roadmap for CyCloud platform evolution in coordination with the CTO
  • Oversee budgeting and cost optimization strategies for infrastructure operations.
  • Establish and manage relationships with key technology vendors and partners.
  • Define, approve, and enforce architectural standards.
  • Directly manage senior technical leaders, fostering a high-performance engineering culture grounded in innovation, transparency, and accountability.
  • Mentor architects, engineers, and senior managers, fostering deep technical growth and leadership maturity across the organization.
  • Lead technical syncs (weekly/bi-weekly) and strategic planning sessions to align teams with business and engineering priorities.
  • Support FedRAMP, RMF, and enterprise security frameworks, working closely with governance teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide executive guidance during high-severity incidents, especially those affecting customer delivery or compliance posture.
  • Set strategic direction for automation frameworks, compliance tooling, and infrastructure modernization initiatives across CyCloud.
  • Accountable for key performance indicators (KPIs) related to uptime, SLA compliance, platform resiliency, and customer onboarding efficiency.
  • Partner with the CTO, security leadership, and program management to define resource allocation and project prioritization.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing teams to support delivery readiness, capacity planning, and incident resolution.
  • Other operations tasks as assigned

Experience and Core Competencies:

  • 10 to 15+ years of experience in cloud and enterprise infrastructure, network architecture, or cloud operations leadership, with at least 5 years in an executive or senior leadership and managerial roles.
  • Proven track record of leading distributed technical teams of 30+ individuals in a regulated environment(s) (e.g., FedRAMP, RMF, NIST), with a strong emphasis on interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong Understanding of network protocols, security principles and virtualization technologies
  • Prior experience as a CISO, ISSO or other similar security-related function is a plus
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or related technical field preferred.
  • Active CompTIA Security+, CASP, or CISSP Certification Preferred

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to navigate a data center environment, including occasional walking, standing, and bending; lifting not typically required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • This role will require occasional travel to other data center regions, where applicable, to support operational oversight, strategic initiatives, or possible incident response.
