Job Summary:

We are seeking a Vice President for our Portfolio Management Group. The role involves underwriting and managing portfolios for clients in the Financial Institutions Group (FIG), including investment grade and non-investment grade corporate borrowers, both public and private.

You will actively manage credit risk within your portfolio, monitor financial health, and identify potential risks to maximize income and reduce costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage designated loan portfolios, conduct due diligence, and review covenant compliance.
  • Analyze credit risk, assign ratings, and recommend ratings to management.
  • Prepare detailed credit reviews and applications, evaluating financial conditions, risks, and performance.
  • Communicate critical account information across various departments.
  • Review loan documentation and ensure compliance with policies and timelines.
  • Maintain industry knowledge and communicate with clients directly.
  • Support deal structuring, risk mitigation, and negotiations.
  • Coordinate with syndicate banks and respond to credit inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and policies, and participate in process improvements.
  • Mentor junior analysts and develop team skills.

Skills & Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a financial institution, accounting firm, or rating agency, analyzing corporate risk and credit profiles.
  • Experience in sectors such as insurance, asset management, and counterparty risk management.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, credit analysis, and understanding of structured finance products.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree required; CFA or MBA preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:

The base salary range is $170,000 - $200,000, depending on experience and location. Additional performance bonuses and comprehensive benefits are offered, including health, retirement, education, and paid leave. For details, see our MUFG Benefits Summary.
