The Vice President, Clinical Operations (VPCO) is an executive level position and is a member of, and accountable to, the executive management team for measuring operational performance, providing analysis and driving change, as well as being responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies for all Organ Operations departments.

The VPCO must champion OneLegacy's philosophy and be dedicated to supporting the mission of OneLegacy to improve and extend lives through organ, eye and tissue donation for transplantation.

Working with OneLegacy's Leadership team and the Organ Operations team, the VPCO will actively foster an organizational culture that is based on collaboration, support, constructive feedback and accountability. This includes ensuring high quality service is provided within the OneLegacy at all times so that clinical services and organ procurement is maximized and serves as clinical resource for organ donation and transplantation issues.

The VPCO will develop and implement operational structure and strategy to include internal control systems, management systems, quality assurance, and quality control for customer service and delivery. The VPCO represents the company and Organ Operations to external organizations, including, but not limited to, government agencies, trade associations, and providers and vendors, in a manner that maintains the integrity and enhances the reputation of OneLegacy. About the Role

The Vice President, Clinical Operations (VPCO) is responsible for leading and directing the Organ Operations departments to ensure high quality practices, communications, protocols, and service delivery standards to the hospital, public, and transplant communities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direction to the Organ Operations departments.
  • Develops strategies, plans, and goals for Organ Operations consistent with the direction of the business.
  • Participates in establishing Organ Operations' short- and long-term business strategies.
  • Develops and implements models for achieving strategic initiatives for OneLegacy.
  • Participates actively in Medical Advisory Board activities and leads specific sub-committees.
  • Designs and builds infrastructure to support OneLegacy's growth.
  • Analyzes and improves department operational processes.
  • Provides leadership in the planning, development, and implementation of corporate strategic initiatives.
  • Participates in the preparation of appropriate, timely responses to complaints and inquiries.
  • Assures staff accountability through routine observation and performance measurement.
  • Leverages technology to improve and streamline processes.
  • Manages appropriate disciplinary actions related to performance of individual staff.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree is required, with preferred course work in behavioral sciences, social sciences or other health related fields.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of critical care experience and/or equivalency of nurse management is required.
  • 3+ years prior management experience in a health-related field.
  • Must have proven leadership, communication and management skills.
  • Prior OPO (Organ Procurement Organization) experience.
  • 5+ years previous experience in providing care to the bereaved preferred.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing a diverse group of professionals.
  • Evidence of a flexible team player with knowledge or understanding of commitment to medical health issues.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite software programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, motivational, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of UNOS, CMS, AOPO standards, policies, and guidelines.
