Job Description Technology Services (TS) is responsible for delivering all enterprise infrastructure, applications and related end user technology services across all Brookfield business groups, comprised of approximately 5,000 users. The Technology Group and Human Resources Services are internal functions providing global operations and business support across Brookfield Asset Management business segments. The Vice President, Business Applications will be responsible for leading a team of diverse and talented analysts in identifying, planning, coordinating, and supervising of all activities related to the development, implementation, and governance of Business Applications, focused on Investor and Investment systems. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applications. A successful candidate will complement his/her business skills and experience with an IT (Information Technology) skillset in the asset management or private equity sectors. This role will be reporting directly into the Senior Vice President, Technology Services. Accountabilities:
  • Participate and collaborate in the strategic development of the Asset Management Application roadmap for BAM, with a particular focus on private funds capabilities and offerings in the marketplace
  • Identify and articulate opportunities to create a competitive advantage for BAM's Asset Management business via technology enabled solutions
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to define and document key business problems and objectives, and identify potential solutions
  • Lead the development and implementation of technology enabled solutions
  • Provide guidance and input for private Asset Management technology projects, strategies and roadmaps
  • Ensure the effective vendor governance of organizations providing operational IT services to the group
  • Provide assistance in 3rd-party service provider selection and contract renewal
  • Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion
  • Encourage an entrepreneurial mindset, constructively driving continuous improvement within your team and across teams
  • Determining how mainstream and emerging technologies can be used to advance business strategy and optimize business operations.
  • Improving and/or digitalizing the investor and internal client experience
  • Working with business functions to understand customer and market requirements in order to create strategies to translate them into digital products and services that enable new business models and drive strategic business outcomes
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to build strong relationships, influence and communicate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders, including business leaders, operational staff, and technical engineers
  • Minimum 10 years management or leadership experience working with investment and related technology solutions
  • Hands-on professional, with ability to see the big picture
  • People leadership experience and strong knowledge of application management best practices
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative; self-motivated and proactive
  • Possess good judgment, a collaborative spirit, curiosity, and strong communication skills
  • Experience with Salesforce, FIS DX, Intralinks, iLevel
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, and balance multiple priorities
  • Strong business and consultative skills, that bridge the dialogue between business and technology teams
  • Strong skills in organizational change management, demonstrated via large transformational initiatives or where the operating dynamic changes significantly
  • Deep understanding of industry leading Asset Management systems with a proven track record at an asset management organization where technology was leveraged as a key business enabler
  • Experience in managing and overseeing third-party service provider service delivery execution and business & commercial governance
  • Help facilitate change through understanding requirements and building consensus
  • Ability to manage cross functional teams driving projects from ideation to launch
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or equivalent
Salary Range: $225k - $235K Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive.
