Veterinary Assistant - VCA Animal Hospitals : Job Details

VCA Petcare West Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time and a part-time Veterinary Assistant to join our exceptional team!

Compensation: $ 19 - $ 23 hr

Schedule: FT 4/10's with rotating Saturdays; PT days 8 hr shifts with rotating Saturdays

Location: 1370 Fulton Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95401

What You'll Do:

As a member of VCA Petcare West Animal Hospital, you will support the team by fostering a positive and low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Skills that will be utilized may include, but are not limited to:

• Assistveterinarians and technicians with exams and procedures

• Take patient histories and perform TPRs (temperature, pulse, respiration)

• Restrain animals safely and compassionately

• Prepare and clean exam rooms

• Assistwith radiographs, lab sample collection, and basic in-house diagnostics

• Maintainaccuratemedical records and support charting

• Provide client education and ensure excellent service during visits

• Support surgery prep and recovery as needed

• Helpmaintaina clean, stocked, and organized hospital environment

Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience in a veterinary setting as a Veterinary Assistant

• Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments

• High school diploma or equivalent required
