Veterinary Assistant Emergency Pet Hospital of Craven-Carteret is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant for the overnight position and be able to work evenings and overnights. If you are a skilled assistant looking to take your skills to the next level in emergency then Emergency Pet Hospital of Craven-Carteret wants to hear from you. This hospital is a fast-paced Emergency Hospital that is dedicated to the care of our patients and their families. This experienced overnight Veterinary Assistant must feel comfortable assisting in surgery, placing IV catheters, doing blood draws, understand patient care and plans of treatments, can do critical thinking, monitor patients, fill prescriptions, proper animal restrain able to perform x-rays and proper positioning, and offer exceptional patient care abilities, and all other duties performed during evening hours with hospitalized patients. Requirements
- 2+ years of emergency veterinary assistant experience
- Idexx- in-house lab equipment knowledge
- Hospital uses Avimark software, preferred, not required
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Understands the importance of excellent communication skills
Responsibilities - Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
- Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
- Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
