General Summary of Position

MedStar Washington Hospital Center – Washington, D.C.

Are you passionate about advancing heart failure care andsupporting patients through life-saving technology? MedStar Washington HospitalCenter is seeking a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Coordinator to joinour nationally recognized cardiovascular program.

In this vital role, you will coordinate and manage allaspects of our VAD program, including both FDA-approved and investigationaldevices. You'll play a central part in clinical operations, patient education,regulatory compliance, and research, while collaborating closely withphysicians, clinical teams, and industry partners.

Key Responsibilities:*Oversee the dailyoperations of the VAD program, ensuring high-quality patient care andregulatory compliance.*Serve as a clinicalexpert and resource on all durable VADs, providing inpatient andoutpatient support.*Participate in andsupport clinical trials, including data collection, IRB submissions, andaudit readiness.*Some on-call responsibilities.*Lead and contribute tostaff training, education, and patient/family teaching programs.*Coordinate and trackdevice inventory and collaborate on quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

*Bachelor's degree inNursing (RN license in DC required) or Engineering with mechanical circulatory support (VAD) exp.*Minimum of 3 years' experience of progressiveclinical experience in a tertiary care setting.*Prior experience withheart failure and VADs preferred.*CPR certification*VAD certificationpreferred within 18 months.

This position has a hiring range of $87,318 - $157,289

In addition to your salary,MedStarHealth offersa comprehensive healthcare package(including medical, dental and vision subject to eligibility requirements) and other benefits.
