- Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations for assigned production areas, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Monitor and support Supervisors in managing associate performance, resolving bottlenecks, and addressing operational challenges.
- Coordinate with the Value Stream Manager to ensure alignment with broader value stream goals and objectives.
- Continuous Improvement
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing BPS Essentials and lean manufacturing tools to identify and eliminate waste, improve efficiency, and enhance productivity.
- Support Supervisors in implementing and sustaining 5S standards on the shop floor.
- Lead small group problem-solving efforts to address recurring issues and drive process improvements.
- Team Development
- Mentor and coach Supervisors to build leadership capabilities and improve team performance.
- Facilitate training programs to ensure associates are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles.
- Promote a positive and collaborative team culture that emphasizes accountability, communication, and mutual respect.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed, and workplace hazards are identified and mitigated promptly.
- Conduct safety audits and collaborate with Supervisors to maintain a safe working environment for all associates.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Data and Metrics Management
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, downtime, scrap rates, and quality performance.
- Provide regular reports and updates to the Value Stream Manager, highlighting successes and identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with Supervisors to implement corrective actions and track progress toward performance goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial management, or a related field of study.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or production operations, including 3+ years in a supervisor/leadership role.
- Experience supervising teams in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading multi-functional, diverse, and cross departmental teams - driving improvements and changes.
