In alignment with the agency's mission and goal of providing high-quality care and service, the Utilization Manager assists CASAC Counselors and supervisory staff to ensure compliance with external and internal utilization review, quality, and appropriateness standards.

What You Will Do

• Conduct timely scheduled utilization reviews for Residential Services sites.
• Perform comprehensive quality and appropriateness reviews on a representative sample of treatment records for residential sites.
• Attend monthly and other required UR Committee meetings, prepare accurate minutes and reports, and participate in the agency's Quality Improvement / Utilization Management Committee.
• Provide supervisory support to CASAC Counselors and Peer Workers as needed, under guidance from management/leadership.
• Monitor and evaluate ongoing audits of charts.
• Provide direct care services to clients as needed.
• Assist with maintaining the agency's OASAS accreditation, including standards review and conformance auditing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Will Be

• OASAS CASAC Certification with a Bachelor's Degree, or
• Other QHP credentials such as LMSW, LMHC, LMSW-LP, or MHC-LP with a Master's Degree.
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services.
• AND
• OASAS CASAC certification, or
• Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field, along with other QHP credentials.
• At least one (1) year of clinical or quality assurance experience in behavioral healthcare or human services, or demonstrated clinical experience in substance use or mental health treatment.
• In-depth knowledge of HIPAA, OASAS, and 42 CFR regulations.
• Working knowledge of quality assurance and utilization review systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Experience working with diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Strong written, interpersonal, verbal, and computational skills for documentation and communication.
• Ability to work independently.
