JOB SUMMARYThe objective of the Maintenance Worker I is to be responsible for all labor job activities but not limited to repair and maintenance of all water and sewer systems within the City of Dodge City; To ensure a trouble-free water and sewer system; Other duties as assigned.________________________DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe duties described below are indicative of what the Maintenance Worker I may be asked to perform; other duties may be assigned:On-going ImprovementJob Knowledge & EffectivenessExpectation to:* Performs manual labor in the repair, maintenance and minor construction of the water and sewer systems; Repair water lines, rod sewers, etc* Install, maintain, and flush fire hydrants.* Install new services, meters, lids, etc.* Maintain grounds at water towers.* Maintain chemicals in sewers and water system.* Keep and maintain accurate records of work through a prescribed record keeping system.* Clean and maintain equipment.* Cross-train in other areas of Public Works Department as appropriate.
