Utility Worker I - City of Matanuska Susitna Borough, AK : Job Details

This position participates in Borough landfill and transfer site operations. Work is performed and duties are carried out in accordance with established policies, procedures, and Borough core values: Accountability, Customer Focus, Dedication, Integrity, Responsiveness and Teamwork. Pay Grade D 1 - D 5 - DOE Minimum Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of experience in a similar position, sufficient to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position. Relevant experience may include: Drive fleet-small to medium size vehicles, operate skid steer, skilled in using hand power tools and ability to perform duties in all weather conditions. Ability to direct traffic, pickup trash, install signs, build barriers and work as a member of team. Current HAZWOPER certification or ability to become HAZWOPER certified within six months of hire date. Certification in Asbestos Identification.
