Overview: As a Utility Services Technician, you will operate a variety of vehicles (including pumper trucks, pick-up and delivery trucks, fence trucks, container trucks, etc.) to support our operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any deficiencies to the mechanics promptly.
  • Inform the Operations Manager of any improper operations, faulty equipment, or unusual conditions.
  • Drive service vehicles to pre-designated work sites based on daily routing information.
  • Service portable restrooms, holding tanks, septic tanks, sinks, and showers according to company guidelines.
  • Notify management of any issues on your assigned back-up route.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch via telephone or radio to receive instructions or changes to work locations.
  • Keep accurate truck logs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Operate flatbed trucks for the delivery or collection of portable units and materials.
  • Update service tickets with relevant details of deliveries or pickups.
  • Drive fence trucks and act as a lead on fence installations, managing assigned crews and operating installation equipment.
  • Transport materials to and from local dump sites, completing required paperwork as needed.
  • Complete special projects as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid Driver's License (CDL or non-commercial).
  • This position requires 50% travel with a flexible schedule.
  • Exceptional time management, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit while driving and stand during service activities.
  • Capability to handle various tools and controls.
  • Repetitive motion tasks.
  • Good visual acuity for close and distant objects.
  • Clear communication with customers and understanding spoken directions.
  • Ability to hear and distinguish sounds.
  • Ability to walk for extended periods and perform necessary movements (lifting, crouching, etc.).

Salary Range: $20.52 - $28.73 per hour
