UI/UX Designer (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Atlanta, GA or Windsor, CT (Hybrid - Onsite from Day 1)
We are hiring a UI/UX Designer for a 3-6 month contract-to-hire position. We need a creative and collaborative professional to help us design an intuitive user experience for a critical migration project. This is a hybrid role requiring you to work onsite from the beginning.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct lightweight user interviews to understand migration pain points.
- Create personas and journey maps to visualize user needs around:
- Rescheduling migrations.
- Viewing readiness tasks.
- Accessing documentation.
- Seeing personalized migration details
- Facilitate short, focused workshops with stakeholders to align goals and constraints
- Develop low- to mid-fidelity wireframes for key user flows
- Build interactive prototypes using Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch to simulate user interactions.
- Iterate designs based on feedback from internal users and stakeholders.
- Work closely with backend engineers to align UI components with the SQL database structure.
- Provide annotated design specs and style guides for implementation.
- Document design decisions, user flows, and component libraries.
- Prepare handoff materials for development teams including red lines, assets, and interaction notes.
Skills Required:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
- Overall 7+ years of experience with 3+ years of experience as UI/UX developer.
- Experience conducting user interviews and creating personas/journey maps.
- Ability to design wireframes and interactive prototypes using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
- Familiarity with user flows related to scheduling, readiness tasks, and documentation access.
- Experience aligning UI components with backend SQL database structures.
- Ability to produce annotated design specs, style guides, and handoff materials.
- Strong documentation skills for design decisions and component libraries.
- Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and iterative design processes.
- Design Tools: Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch for wireframes and prototypes.
- User Research: Conducting interviews, creating personas, and journey maps.
- Interaction Design: Building interactive flows for migration rescheduling, readiness tracking, and documentation access.
- Design Documentation: Annotated specs, style guides, redlines, and component libraries.
