Job Description :
This is a leadership opportunity with a U.S.-based manufacturing operation that places safety, responsibility, and operational excellence at the core of its mission. The company has built a strong reputation for precision, discipline, and teamwork-values that align closely with the skills and experiences of military service. Employees here are not only part of a business, but part of a culture that protects people, communities, and the environment. The Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager is a mission-critical role that drives safety performance and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across manufacturing operations. This leader sets the standard for a zero-incident culture, reducing workplace injuries, enforcing safety protocols, and holding both employees and contractors accountable to the highest expectations. The position requires a commanding presence on the shop floor, from conducting unannounced safety inspections to leading root-cause investigations when incidents occur. Equally important, the role extends to environmental compliance, ensuring responsible waste management, spill prevention, emissions control, and sustainability initiatives that protect the surrounding community. Working closely with operations, engineering, and executive leadership, the HSE Manager influences decisions at every level, embedding a proactive safety mindset and advancing continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in high-stakes, safety-critical environments where discipline, accountability, and leadership are non-negotiable. A military background is highly valued, as it brings experience in risk assessment, operational safety, and leading teams under pressure. Candidates should have several years of HSE or safety leadership experience in manufacturing, energy, chemical, or industrial settings, and be confident in enforcing compliance while coaching others toward excellence. A degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, or Engineering is preferred but not required-military training, technical certifications, and hands-on leadership experience are equally respected. Certifications such as OSHA, NEBOSH, or CSP are a plus, but what matters most is a proven ability to build trust, enforce standards, and drive measurable improvements in safety outcomes. This is more than just a job-it's an opportunity to take command of a vital function that directly protects lives, prevents harm, and ensures the integrity of operations. For veterans who are motivated by mission, disciplined execution, and the chance to leave a lasting impact, this position offers a career where their experience and leadership truly matter.Location: Near Buffalo NYPay: $110,000 - $130,000Shift: M-T 10hr shifts with Fridays as necessary401K: Yes with company matchPTO: Yes, grows with tenureBonus: annual company performance bonusBenefits: full benefits package- medical, health, dental, vision, etc. Job 58633
