We are seeking a Junior Industrial Designer for programs and projects within our company, focusing on healthcare, life sciences, and biotech instrument development projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong Industrial Design skills demonstrated with a portfolio, basic technical knowledge of hardware instrument development learned, preferably, as an intern industrial designer.

In this role you will be responsible under the guidance of the Director of Industrial Design for creation of designs for parts and entire instruments focusing on ergonomics, DFX, functionality, serviceability, aesthetics and branding appropriate for the given categories.

• Evaluate part and product workflow, ergonomic and marketing requirements and translate these into product attributes
• Translate ME, EE, Optics and project management requirements into workable enclosure designs via sketching, foam mockups and preliminary CAD concepts
• Create presentations to demonstrate product attributes to customers and present them in a clear and compelling way in order to gain adoption
• Refine concepts in CAD and demonstrate leading designs with photorealistic renderings and animations.
• Document designs in SW drawings in order to maintain design intent thru production

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibility but is dependent on clear communication with ME, EE, Optics and project management in order to demonstrate and maintain design intent.

• Strong portfolio and resume based on school and limited internship roles.
• Bachelors degree in Industrial Design
• Excellent electronic sketching skills at the Junior ID level.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office tools
• Can do attitude and willingness to learn and collaborate with colleagues
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and desire to learn PDM and drawing skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
• Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across different teams and departments.
