Job Overview:

The Systems Administration team designs, installs, configures, and maintains UNIX and Windows server systems. These systems are configured to handle current capacity and future growth, with high availability and disaster recovery solutions in place to prevent issues during system failures.

The Unix Systems Administrator Level 3 collaborates with various departments and external resources on projects related to server architecture, design, and planning. They assist in installation, configuration, and maintenance, ensuring systems meet capacity, availability, and recovery standards.

The administrator documents system statuses and resolves major issues, performing routine diagnostics and applying patches, updates, and upgrades in compliance with PCI standards.

  • Design, maintain, and administer backups, restores, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Plan and create architecture for large-scale server implementations.
  • Research solutions, collaborating with teams and vendors for cost-effective upgrades and integrations.
  • Monitor server capacity and implement solutions proactively.
  • Configure, install, and document hardware in various server environments.
  • Perform root cause analysis and document issues.
  • Diagnose and repair software failures.
  • Maintain server environments for high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Collaborate with networking/security teams for proper configuration.
  • Implement system upgrades, updates, and patches as required.
  • Schedule and perform system maintenance and diagnostics.
  • Manage system security, access, and permissions.
  • Use project management and time tracking tools for project updates.
  • Support and train lower-level administrators.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for emergency support.
Additional Responsibilities:

· As assigned by the manager

· Travel to IT expos for research

· Attend off-site training courses

Preferred Education, Experience, and Licenses:

· 5-7 years in large-scale server environments

· Troubleshooting and configuration experience with Windows OS

· Experience with third-party software integration

· Knowledge of server hardware, UNIX, and operating systems

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Expertise in Veritas NetBackup and Veritas Cluster administration

· Experience with LDAP, Active Directory, VM Ware, cloud computing, virtualization, Office 365

· Knowledge of hardware, software, and enterprise network integration

· Familiarity with databases (Oracle, Informix, MySQL)

· UNIX and Perl understanding

· Cost-effective IT solutions for server hardware

· Strong communication, teamwork, and professional skills

· Detail-oriented, analytical, resourceful

· Knowledge of B&H policies
