Position Description Summary/Purpose: This part-time, in-person position provides frontline support for the University of Bridgeport's main phone line, as well as the primary line for the Admissions team. The role also serves as the receptionist for the Office of Human Resources and Community Culture, which includes HR, Student Employment, and Title IX & Equity. Scheduled hours are Mondays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities: (The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.) •Answer and route incoming calls on multi-line phone systems, including main University and departmental lines. •Serve as the first point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, providing a welcoming and professional presence at the front desk. •Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and deliveries. •Process invoices for HR department and maintain electronic files accordingly. •Assist with basic administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, photocopying, and preparing documents. •Assist the Student Employment office by greeting students and making copies of documents for I9 verification as needed. •Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to University policies and procedures. •Performs other duties as assigned. •Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed. Other Functions: •Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates. •Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends. •Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.
