Position Summary As the Unit Clerk, you will provide administrative support services to the assigned unit and other MMHI units when needed. You will be responsible for:
- record keeping duties for both patients and staff.
- daily scheduling of nursing staff for the unit.
- monitoring and processing timesheets for unit staff.
- admitting patients.
- maintaining patients' financial accounts.
- keeping inventory of unit supplies.
- assisting in patient emergency situations and the overall cleanliness of the unit.
Salary Information Starting pay is $20.02 per hour, or the minimum at the time of appointment, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current or former state employees is set based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as an Office Operations Associate and is in pay schedule/range is 02/10.
Job Details All applicants will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled. All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by MMHI or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date. DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- Experience providing administrative support such as typing and emailing correspondence, responding to inquiries, record keeping, or assisting with updating procedures.
- Experience conducting basic finance activities such as money management (receiving, recording, and/or withdrawing money), performing money calculations, or reconciling receipts in a business setting.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience performing staff timekeeping functions such as reviewing staff schedule changes, reconciling timecards and reports, entering data into an electronic scheduling program, or posting staff schedules, etc.
- Experience working with confidential information and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Experience working in a hospital, medical clinic, or similar 24/7 facility.
