- Assists visitors, families, patients, physicians, and other United Health Services (UHS) staff by answering questions, delivering messages, and providing information within the scope of the position
- Measures and records intake and output; collects specimens including routine and clean catch, 24-hour urine, stool, and sputum
- Answers call bells and provides assistance as needed within the scope of the position
- Changes bed linens as needed and makes both occupied and unoccupied beds
- Assists patients with AM/PM care, oral hygiene, simple skin care, and dressing
- Practices good body mechanics; ensures proper patient positioning with pillows and other supportive measures; uses safety equipment correctly
- Assists patients with meal trays and nourishment; feeds patients when necessary, completes menus, and provides fresh water
- Performs other duties as assigned
