Job Description :

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Union HR & Payroll Manager to take full ownership of all HR administrative and union payroll processes for a respected organization. While this is a management-level role, it does not include supervising staff—instead, it requires a hands-on professional who thrives in managing workflows independently. This is a fully in-office position reporting directly to the Controller.

Key Responsibilities of the Union HR/Payroll Manager:

  • Manage end-to-end union payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all pay cycles
  • Administer HR processes including employee onboarding, offboarding, and benefits administration
  • Maintain accurate employee records, time tracking, deductions, and union dues in compliance with collective bargaining agreements
  • Serve as the point of contact for payroll discrepancies, benefit issues, and HR policy clarifications
  • Support audit preparation, payroll reporting, and internal reviews in coordination with the Controller
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and union regulations
  • Analyze and improve existing payroll and HR procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications of the Union HR/Payroll Manager:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in HR and union payroll processing
  • Strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements and union reporting requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in payroll software systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage confidential information with discretion
  • An associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
